The dream scene opens when I become aware that I am holding a metal snake. The snake has teeth like a hand saw clamps down on my pointer finger on my left hand. Scene jumps and I am now in front of a pasta machine and insert the snake and turn the handle and the snake goes through. The head is still the same but the body is now interwoven and four or 5 inches wide. I wake up just then.

Was the snake clamping down more mechanical, or animated, as if alive? Also, when you placed it into the pasta machine, was it head first, or tail first? and was it no longer clamped onto your finger?

Was it interwoven like the head being the hook of a hanging basket, and the body like a macrame belt? (Or one snake body woven a few times times with itself, or split into something else...?) (That's a *very* curious set of images...!)

Hello Dick,
The snake clamped down on my finger more mechanical like and the snake head went in first in the pasta machine and the tail was last. They both came out unchanged and the body was just woven like on a cherry pie. One strip over and one strip under.

OK, this may be a bit of a stretch, but here goes:
*What /if/* your past life relationships (left hand is the one that wears a wedding ring, although this involves a different finger of that hand) have "woven together" (overlapped) to form the relationship of how you were "going in" as well as "coming out"? That is, although your path (and that of your husband(s)) may have intertwined, still you have come out *much as* you went in: single.

Hello Dick,
I think that is too big of a stretch and that snake had nothing to do with any marriage.
Thanks for the thought though.

Please keep in mind, I've got some peculiar ideas regarding snakes in dreams cooking on my "back burners." Such concepts take the image of a snake *away* from the concept of something "evil" towards more of something "time-related." In some cases, the image of a reptile is (literally as well as figuratively) connected with the concept of "the reptilian brain" that is at the core of every human (it is a part of the brain that forms around the bud of the brain stem, like near the medulla oblongata, etc.)
(duckduckgo.com/?q=reptilian+brain+definition)
(bigthink.com/series/the-big-think-interview/reptilian-brain) << that's an *interesting* link!
However, sure, it's *your* dream, and *only you* can rule on what it may or may not be about. I simply find the woven snake (with a single head & tail) to be a fascinating dream image ✔

An Ouroboros on a pie (like as a circumference crust) is a wonderful image, however, she was describing a laced over/under pattern (like skirting around a high porch to keep out rabbits & skunks.)

The question that came up in my mind was/is: if the snake bit her finger, how then was the head of the snake fed into the pasta machine?

Hello Dick,
All I can say is that in dreams anything can happen.
Amen! (Matthew 19:26, "...*with* God *all* things *are* possible" / (emphasis mine).)
